WHO'S DISTRICT

[00:00:01]

ONE.

[Environmental and Community Advisory Board on May 12, 2021.]

THAT'S YOUR NAME? CAN'T BE A JIM DOBBINS DISTRICT ONE.

IT LOOKS LIKE JOHN'S THERE.

SO WE'LL CALL JOHN BOB BRONZE FOR DISTRICT THREE, DENNIS, YOUR SOUND'S OFF FOR BETTY OR SOUNDS OFF TO WHICH DISTRICTS? DISTRICT SIX DISTRICT.

WELL, THAT LOOKS LIKE ALL OF US.

I THINK.

WHAT DO WE HAVE ON THE AGENDA TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE LAST MEETING? DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY THING TO ADD TO THE, SEE THE MINUTES FROM THE APRIL 14TH MEETING? ALL RIGHT.

WE'LL MOVE TO APPROVE THE MINUTES AS THEY ARE WRITTEN A SECOND.

ALL RIGHT.

IT TAKES CARE OF THAT AND I BELIEVE WE'RE RIGHT ONTO OUR STREETS PRESENTATION.

CORRECT.

ALL RIGHT.

THOSE, UH, STEVE OLIVER, THE DIRECTOR OF STREETS, WASN'T ABLE TO MAKE IT TONIGHT, BUT WE HAVE THE STREET CONSTRUCTION MANAGER, STEVE PICKETT.

SO HE'S GOING TO HELP US OUT TONIGHT AND ANSWER SOME OF YOUR QUESTIONS.

UH, ALSO BEFORE THE MEETING, I BOUGHT IT NOW WHERE I GO OVER.

SO I SENT ALL OF YOU GUYS A COUPLE OF EMAILS.

OKAY, GOOD.

GOOD.

SO GIVE ME ONE SECOND.

I'LL SHARE MY SCREEN A, WE CAN START.

OKAY.

AS URIEL SAID, I'M STEVE PICKETT, THE STREET CONSTRUCTION MANAGER WITH THE STREET DEPARTMENT.

MR. OLIVER, COULDN'T MAKE IT TONIGHT.

UM, SO I'M STANDING IN FOR HIM.

UM, I'M GONNA DO MY BEST AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE, AND HOPEFULLY THIS'LL GIVE A LITTLE INSIGHT AS TO WHAT WE'RE DOING.

UM, WE HAVE TWO DIFFERENT DIVISIONS IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT.

WE HAVE A MAINTENANCE DIVISION AND THE CONSTRUCTION DIVISION.

UM, IF YOU WANT TO GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE, THE MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES THAT WE DO ARE POTHOLE REPAIR, UM, MAJOR PATCHING SKIN, PATCHING, ASPHALT OVERLAYS, UH, ASPHALT MICROSURFACING ASPHALT REJUVENATION, CRACK CEILING, UM, LEVEL LIFTING.

WE'VE ACTUALLY TURNED THAT OVER TO A, TO A CONTRACTOR.

HOW MANY PAYMENT GRINDING, UH, UNPAVED ALLEY GRADING, UM, TREE REMOVAL AND SEVERE WEATHER RESPONSE, THE POTHOLE REPAIRS, BASICALLY ANYTHING.

THAT'S THE ONE, JUST THE NORMAL PATIL THAT YOU WOULD SEE IN THE STREET.

UM, MAJOR PATCHING THAT'S ANYTHING BIGGER THAN SAY A THREE FOOT BY THREE FOOT MAJOR THING BIGGER THAN THAT.

UM, WE CONSIDER MAJOR PATCH ANYTHING BIGGER THAN THAT.

UM, SKIN PATCHING THAT'S, THAT'S TYPICALLY WHAT YOU SEE WHERE THE CONCRETE JUST HAS.

THE TOP LAYER COMES OFF AND IT'S NOT REALLY A POTHOLE, BUT IT'S, IT'S A SURFACE DEFECT.

UM, WE'LL PUT A THIN LAYER OF ASPHALT, OR WE HAVE A COUPLE OF OTHER MATERIALS THAT WE TRY TO USE, UM, TO CORRECT THAT.

UM, IF IT'S ON CONCRETE, WE HAVE A, IT'S A CON IT'S A MATERIAL THAT'S, IT'S SIMILAR TO CONCRETE OR QUICK CREEK.

UM, AND WE, WE TRY TO USE THAT.

SO IT'LL BLEND IN WITH THE CONCRETE SURFACE.

WE TRY TO, IF IT'S A FAIRLY GOOD STREET, WE TRY TO DO THAT INSTEAD OF PUTTING THE ASPHALT DOWN ON IT.

MICROSURFACING THE ASPHALT OVERLAYS.

THAT'S WHERE WE DO THE ENTIRE WIDTH OF THE STREET AND THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE STREET.

AND WE PUT ABOUT A TWO INCH OVERLAY ON IT.

AND THAT'S THE STORES, THE LIFE OF THAT STREET BY POSSIBLY 10 TO 15 YEARS, MICRO SERVICING IS RELATIVELY THE SAME THING, BUT IT'S A VERY, VERY THIN COAT OF LIKE LIQUID ASPHALT WITH SOME GRANULAR MATERIAL IN IT THAT, UM, REJUVENATE OR EXTENDS THE LIFE OF THE STREET AND MAKES IT LOOK A LITTLE BIT BETTER AS WELL.

ASPHALT REJUVENATION, THAT'S AN OIL, A PENETRATING OIL THAT WE ONLY USE ON ASPHALT STREETS.

IT PENETRATES ABOUT AN EIGHTH OF AN INCH AND RESTORES THE ASPHALTIC, UM, CONTENT OF THAT STREET.

AND IT STOPS IT FROM DETERIORATING CRACK.

SEALING IS BASICALLY WHAT IT IS CRACK AND, UM, THE LEVEL LIFTING.

I CAN EXPLAIN THAT EVEN THOUGH IT'S NOT A MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY

[00:05:01]

NOW, UM, IT'S SHOOTING A LACK OF POLYURETHANE MATERIAL UNDERNEATH CONCRETE THAT HAS SUNK AND IT RAISES IT BACK UP, UM, PAVEMENT GRINDING.

THAT'S WHERE WE JUST GRIND, UM, HIGH SPOTS IN THE STREET.

UM, TYPICALLY IN A DRAINAGE TYPE SCENARIO, LIKE A CURB AND GUTTER, UH, ON PAVED ALLEY GRADING.

UM, WE HAVE SOME PAVED ALLEYS IN THE CITY AND SOME UNPAID, UM, THOSE UNPAVED ARE BASICALLY JUST DIRT AND WE'LL GO THROUGH AND GRADE THOSE TO MAKE THEM DRAIN.

OR SOMETIMES PEOPLE DRAFTED THEM AND WROTE THEM UP TREE REMOVAL.

UM, WE'LL REMOVE DEAD TREES, UM, NOT ALIVE TREE, BUT A DEAD TREE.

WE WILL.

AND THEN SEVERE WEATHER RESPONSE, FLOODING ANYTHING, LOTS OF, OKAY.

THE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.

WE HAVE TWO TYPES OF CONSTRUCTION WE HAVE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE.

UM, THE INSIDE IS BASICALLY OUR CREWS STREET DEPARTMENT CREWS AND THE OUTSIDE.

WE USE CONTRACTORS, UM, BUT IT'S STREET RECONSTRUCTION, UM, STREET CONCRETE, SLAB REPAIR.

THAT'S WHERE WE GO IN AND BASICALLY JUST REPAIRS SITES, PIECES OF STREET, ANYTHING WHERE THE STREET IS IN STILL FAIRLY GOOD CONDITION.

WE CAN JUST REPAIR THERE, SECTIONS OF IT.

AND IT DOESN'T REQUIRE A COMPLETE STREET RECONSTRUCTION, UM, ALLEY RECONSTRUCTION, ALLEY SLAB REPAIR, BASICALLY THE EXACT SAME THING.

AND IN THE LEVEL THAT I DESCRIBED EARLIER, OKAY, THIS IS OUR PROJECT LIST.

THIS IS, AND HOPEFULLY I'LL HAVE THIS, BUT THIS IS A LIST OF THE STREETS THAT WE'VE COMPLETED.

UM, SINCE, UM, I GUESS IT'S 2019, UM, AND ON, UM, AND IF YOU GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE, THERE'S STILL MORE COMPLETE.

I DON'T, I DON'T WANT TO GO THROUGH EACH ONE, BUT THERE'S DIFFERENT PROJECTS.

UM, YOU CAN SEE THAT THEY'RE EITHER COMPLETED, UH, UNDERWAY OR FUTURE, AND THERE'S, THERE'S QUITE A LIST THERE.

AND THESE ARE ALL THROUGHOUT ALL THE DIFFERENT DISTRICTS AS WELL.

AND HERE YOU CAN SEE IF IT'S ONGOING OR FUTURE.

UM, IT'S, IT'S A QUITE EXTENSIVE LIST BACK IN, I GUESS IT WAS 2013, THE STREET DEPARTMENT'S BUDGET, ANNUAL BUDGET WAS ABOUT $10 MILLION.

AND AFTER THAT COUNCILS COUNCILS INCREASE THAT TO BASICALLY 30 MILLION EACH YEAR.

SO WE DO QUITE MORE WORK THAN WE DID BACK THEN.

NOW THIS, THIS SLIDE HERE, THIS IS, THIS IS THINGS THAT WE'RE, UM, WHERE WE WORK WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS, WE PROVIDE FUNDING TO OTHER DEPARTMENTS TO, UM, TO, IT MIGHT BE A WATER DEPARTMENT PROJECT, OR, UH, AN ENGINEERING JOB.

AND WE'RE BASED THERE DOING THE WORK.

WE'RE BASICALLY JUST HELPING WITH THE FUNDING.

THESE ARE SOME RAILROAD CROSSING IMPROVEMENTS THAT WE'RE DOING.

UM, THESE REQUIRE US TO COORDINATE WITH THE VARIOUS, UM, RAILROADS, UH, THE DG AND O OR, UM, KCS, BUT THESE ARE ALL EITHER UNDER CONSTRUCTION OR WE'RE WORKING ON, AND THAT'S PRETTY MUCH IT.

I CAN TRY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT Y'ALL MIGHT HAVE.

AND, AND GUYS, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I CAN DO IS I CAN SEND YOU THIS POWERPOINT THAT WAY, IF YOU WANT TO LIST THAT THE ENTIRE LIST OF PROJECTS THAT THAT STREETS DEPARTMENT IS WORKING ON THE FUTURE PROJECTS THAT WE CAN HAVE THE LIST.

CAUSE IT WAS, IT WAS QUITE EXTENSIVE BY ONE.

I I'VE, UH, I'VE TWO QUESTIONS.

UM, THE FIRST I SAW ON THAT VERY LAST SLIDE THERE, UH, YOU MENTIONED THE, UM, JUPITER WHERE THE CROSSES OVER THE TRACKS THERE, AND

[00:10:01]

IT SAID, UH, UNDER DESIGN, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GO FROM DESIGN TO REVIEW TO, OKAY, WE'RE ACTUALLY GOING TO START WORKING ON IT.

IT VARIES BECAUSE IT'S NOT, IT HAS TO GO THROUGH, UM, OUR ENGINEERS.

UM, AND THEN IT ALSO HAS TO GO THROUGH THE RAILROADS ENGINEERS AND THEN ONCE, AND THAT'S A PROCESS THAT IT'S, SOMETIMES IT CAN TAKE AS LITTLE AS THREE MONTHS.

UM, SOMETIMES IT MIGHT TAKE AS MUCH AS SIX MONTHS, UM, AND PLUS THE COORDINATION OF THEIR CONTRACTORS, UM, BECAUSE IT'S A, IT'S A COORDINATION OF TWO PEOPLE.

THE RAILROAD ACTUALLY HAS TO HAVE SOMEONE COME IN AND LAY THE TRACK, THE CONCRETE BEAMS. UM, AND THEN WE COME, YOU KNOW, US OR ANOTHER CONTRACTOR, DEPENDING ON HOW IT WORKS OUT, IT COMES IN WITH THE ASPHALT OR MORE CONCRETE BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT'S NOT JUST REPLACING THE TRACK IT'S THAT YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO GO ABOUT, YOU KNOW, A HUNDRED FOOT FURTHER TO GET THE SPEED LIMIT.

UM, DEPENDING ON THE SPEED LIMIT, DEPENDS ON HOW FAR YOU'D HAVE TO GO IF THE GRADES ARE CORRECT OR NOT.

SO, SO IT REALLY VARIES.

IT COULD TAKE ANYWHERE FROM THREE MONTHS UP TO SIX TO NINE MONTHS, UH, THAT ONE, UH, JUPITER IS, UH, IT'S BEEN THAT WAY FOR 10 YEARS.

IT'S NOT GOING TO GET FIXED ANYTIME SOON.

YEAH.

AND, AND THERE'S SOME PARTS OF IT.

THE TRACK IS ACTUALLY SETTLED.

SO W WE, WE'VE TRIED TO GO IN AND PUT SOME ASPHALT DOWN TO MAKE, TO TRY TO LEVEL IT UP, BUT SOME OF THEM THERE'S JUST NOTHING WE CAN DO.

AND THEN THE SECOND QUESTION I HAD, GO AHEAD, BOB, YOU HAVE A QUESTION.

NOPE, I'M DONE.

OH, UH, SECOND QUESTION.

UH, MY STREETS, TIMBER CREEK, UM, JUST SOUTH OF, UH, BUCKINGHAM, JUST GOT A COMPLETE, UH, OVERLAY ASPHALT OVERLAY DONE LOOKS GREAT, MUCH, MUCH BETTER.

UM, MY HANGUP IS THAT MY FRONT BUMPER ON MY VAN SCRAPES.

NOW, EVERY TIME I COME DOWN THE DRIVEWAY, I PUT A NOTICE ON ESS ABOUT IT AND MARKED IT AS COMPLETED, BUT IT'S STILL SCRAPING EVERY DAY I LEAVE MY DRIVEWAY.

SO THE QUESTION IS WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THAT? I KNOW THERE'S A LITTLE SPACE WHERE THE OVERLAY ENDS, THE CURB BEGINS AND THAT'S FOR DRAINAGE.

AND THAT'S THE SPACE BETWEEN WHERE THE OVERLAY BEGINS AND MY DRIVEWAY IS, BUT WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THAT? AND WHO DO I NEED TO TALK TO ABOUT THAT? BECAUSE I'M GOING TO BE RUNNING OUT A BUMPER PRETTY SOON.

THAT WOULD BE ME.

UM, IF YOU CAN, IF YOU CAN SEND ME AN EMAIL, UM, HOPEFULLY IN SOME OF THESE EMAILS THAT HAVE BEEN GONE OUT, MY EMAIL'S ON THERE.

UM, FEEL FREE TO SHOOT ME AN EMAIL WITH YOUR ADDRESS AND WE'LL TAKE A LOOK AT IT.

UM, NORMALLY IT SHOULDN'T DO THAT, BUT WE CAN'T REALLY, I DON'T WANT TO PUT ANYTHING IN THE GUTTER LINE BECAUSE THAT WOULD BLOCK THE WATER.

AND WE ALREADY HAD QUITE A BIT OF DRAINAGE ISSUES OUT THERE, UM, ON THAT STREET.

BUT IF YOU, IF YOU SEND ME AN EMAIL WITH YOUR ADDRESS, WE'LL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO TO REMEDY THAT WE MAY HAVE TO DO SOME GRINDING IN THAT AREA OR SOMETHING, BUT MAKE IT WHERE IT DOESN'T SCRAPE ANYMORE.

I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS SUBMITTED.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE.

THE, I THINK THERE WAS A LIST OF ABOUT SEVEN QUESTIONS.

UM, I THINK, I THINK MR. OLIVER AND PAUL LUKEY FROM THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT, UM, REPLIED TO THOSE, UM, I BELIEVE THEY SEND THEM TO YOUR EMAIL DIRECTLY.

THAT'S CORRECT.

HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR EMAIL, JOHN? I DID TODAY, BUT I DIDN'T SEE IT.

YEAH.

OKAY.

I THINK THE MAJOR ONE WAS A 78 WHERE IT COMES INTO A FIRST STREET AND MAIN STREET DOWNTOWN 78 IS FOUR LANES AND IT GOES DOWN TO A LEFT TURN LANE THERE.

AND I JUST WONDERED WHAT THE, ALL OF THOSE QUESTIONS, A LOT OF THOSE QUESTIONS WERE NOT REALLY RELATED TO THE STREET DEPARTMENT.

THEY'RE MORE TRANSPORTATION.

UM, BUT, BUT, UM, PAUL LUKEY OF THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT BETWEEN STEVE OLIVER AND PAUL, I THINK COMBINED, THEY, I THINK THEY ANSWERED THE QUESTIONS PRETTY WELL.

THOSE QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED VERY WELL.

THANK YOU FOR THE, THOSE ANSWERS.

I HAVE A QUESTION.

THIS MAY BE TRANSPORTATION, BUT CERTAINLY STREETS ARE OFF AT THE CORNER OF

[00:15:01]

SATURN ROAD AND MILLER AND GARLAND AVENUE AND MILLER.

THAT IS REALLY A BAD INTERSECTION.

DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT'S GOING TO BE DONE THERE? OKAY.

DID, I'M SORRY, YOU SAID SATURN AND MILLER, SATURN AND MILLER AND GARLAND AVENUE AND MILLER.

YOU KNOW, THOSE, THERE'S A BACH.

THE LOT IS ON GARLAND AVENUE AND THEN THERE'S ANOTHER ONE ON SATURDAY.

AND THAT REALLY I BAD, BAD PLACE TO BE.

UH, AND THAT'S ACTUALLY BEING REPLACED.

THAT'S ALL THAT, THAT WHOLE SECTION OF MILLER IS BEING REPLACED.

WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN TO THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS THERE, BUT THAT THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS THAT I CAN ANSWER.

UM, BUT THAT'S GOING TO BE THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT.

I THOUGHT IT WOULD PROBABLY BE.

AND IF YOU GUYS, IF YOU GO SEND ME A, UH, AN EMAIL WITH QUESTIONS LIKE THAT ONE, I'LL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SEND THEM TO PAUL.

HE'S THE DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION AND I'LL GET, YOU GUYS ARE RESPONDING.

YEAH.

I KNOW THAT THAT WHOLE INTERSECTION IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION RIGHT NOW.

YEAH.

THEY HAVE TELEPHONE POLES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET.

YES.

IT IS A BAD BATCH PLACE.

YEAH.

IT'S FOR ME, I EITHER HAVE TO GO KINGSLEY OR MILLER TO WORK AND THEY'RE, THEY'RE BOTH A CRAPSHOOT.

THEY'RE BOTH A CRAPSHOOT, WHETHER THEY'RE BLOCKING IT OFF OR NOT.

YEAH.

OKAY.

THAT ONE THERE DOING IT IS LIKE A LIFETIME PROJECT.

NO, I'D LIKE TO ASK AND I'LL APOLOGIZE FOR NOT SUBMITTING IT EARLIER, BUT I KNOW THERE'S STRONGER ASPHALT AND OTHER INGREDIENTS AND STRONGER FOR THE CONCRETE OR ARE THOSE NOT BEING USED JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE THEIR COST PROHIBITED, UM, SORRY, STRONGER, STRONGER MATERIALS THAN ASPHALT AND CONCRETE, RIGHT.

OR STRONGER FORMS OF ASPHALT, YOU KNOW, A LITTLE MORE DURABLE THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE AS MUCH REPAIR WE'RE, WE'RE PRETTY MUCH USING THE, THE, THE, THE BEST OF THE BEST.

UM, THERE'S DIFFERENT ADDITIVES THAT WE CAN, YOU KNOW, THERE'S A BUNCH OF ADDITIVES THAT YOU CAN PUT IN CONCRETE TO MAKE IT STRONGER, FASTER, ACTUALLY CURE FASTER, THINGS LIKE THAT.

BUT SOMETIMES WHENEVER YOU TRY TO GET STRENGTH OUT OF SOMETHING, IT CREATES MORE CRACKS.

UM, AND SO, AND SO IT'S KIND OF A BALANCE.

WE TRY TO FIND THE BEST PRODUCT THAT WE CAN USE, UM, TO MEET THE CITY'S NEEDS, UM, FOR, YOU KNOW, LONGEVITY AND YOUR ABILITY.

UM, I KNOW THAT IN THE, SINCE WE STARTED THE OVERLAY PROGRAM, WE'VE GONE, WE WENT FROM TOP D MIX TO A SUPER PAY.

UM, THAT SUPER PAVE IS WHAT WE'VE USED ON TIMBER CREEK, FOR EXAMPLE, IT'S THAT WE'RE ACTUALLY ABLE TO PUT A THINNER OVERLAY AND IT'S, AND IT'S STRONGER.

UM, AND IT, AND IT LASTS LONGER.

UM, IT COSTS A LITTLE MORE MONEY, BUT THE, BUT THE BENEFITS OUTWEIGH THE COST.

UM, SO WE'RE, WE TRY TO STAY ON TOP OF THAT AND USE THE BEST THING AVAILABLE FOR US.

OKAY.

THANK YOU.

ANYBODY ELSE? I KNOW WE PUT AN OVERLAY ON, UM, SOUTH COUNTRY CLUB OVER HERE WHERE I LIVE AND, UH, I THINK IT'S BEEN PATCHED ABOUT FIVE TIMES SINCE IT'S BEEN PUT DOWN.

UM, BUT MOSTLY IT'S BECAUSE TRUCKS RUN UP AND DOWN THE STREET, EVEN THOUGH IT'S A RESTRICTED TRAFFIC, THERE'S NOT SUPPOSED TO ANY TRUCKS, YOU SEE TRUCKS EVERY DAY GOING THROUGH THERE BECAUSE OF ALL THE EMOTION OFF OF WIND JOYCE AND STUFF.

AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT DOESN'T REALLY ENFORCE ANY OF THAT.

YEAH.

AS FAR AS COUNTRY CLUB, COUNTRY CLUB, WE WERE JUST TRYING TO BUY SOME TIME.

UM, IF YOU REMEMBER PRIOR TO THE OVERLAY, THERE WAS A WATER LINE TRENCH LINE THAT WENT ALL THE WAY FROM WIND JOYCE, ALL THE WAY UP TO CENTERVILLE.

AND IT CONTINUED TO FAIL, YOU KNOW, EVERYWHERE AROUND IT.

IT JUST CONTINUED TO FAIL.

AND ONCE WE STARTED THE OVERLAY PROGRAM, WE DID COUNTRY CLUB.

AND I WANT TO SAY THAT WAS ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO, MAYBE FOUR OR FIVE YEARS AGO.

AND IT BOUGHT US A LOT

[00:20:01]

OF TIME.

UM, BUT IF YOU NOTICE THE, THE FAILURES THAT ARE SHOWING UP NOW, THEY'RE STILL RIGHT THERE ON THAT WATERLINE TRENCH LINE.

UM, BUT THE WAY THAT WE'RE ABLE TO DO IT, NOW WE CAN ACTUALLY GO IN AND CUT OUT THOSE SPOTS AND MAKE BETTER PATCHES.

THAT'LL LAST A LITTLE BIT LONGER COMPARED TO WHAT IT WAS THE FIVE YEARS AGO.

YEAH.

WHEN THEY FIRST PUT IT DOWN, WE WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH EVERYTHING.

DRAGON, KAYLA, WE JUST WENT OUT THERE AND BEING ON IT WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER.

YEAH.

NOW ACTUALLY, WHEN WE DID COUNTRY CLUB WHERE WE'RE USING THE, THE ORIGINAL TAB D MIX THAT WE HAD TO PUT A THICKER MATCH, BOY, IT GRABBED THE STABILIZER JACKS OFF A LOT OF MY TRAILERS AND I'M LIKE, OH YEAH, WE'VE MADE SOME IMPROVEMENTS TO THE, TO THE MATERIAL THAT WE USE SINCE I'M SORRY.

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY SERIOUS QUESTIONS? OH, I GUESS WE'RE ALL DONE WITH STREETS.

SURE.

APPRECIATE YOUR TIME, STEVE.

AND, AND, UH, I HOPE I HELPED A LITTLE BIT AND IF Y'ALL HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US AT THE STREET DEPARTMENT.

UM, YOU CAN EITHER EMAIL US OR GET, GET ANY OF OUR INFORMATION OFF THE WEBSITE, OFF THE CONTACT US PAGE ON THE STREET DEPARTMENT PAGE.

AND WE'LL BE WELL WE'RE W ANY OF US ARE WILLING TO DO ANYTHING WE CAN TO HELP YOU OUT.

I APPRECIATE THAT.

I'M SURE IT'S A PRETTY THANKLESS JOB, LIKE HERE, MAYBE THE MOST COST DEPARTMENT IN GARLAND.

YEAH.

BUT SINCE WE, SINCE COUNCIL INCREASED OUR FUNDING, WE'VE, WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO MAKE QUITE A BIT OF IMPROVEMENTS ON THAT AND THE CALLS THAT COME IN AND ARE A LITTLE BIT LESS.

SO.

ALL RIGHT.

WELL, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

THANK YOU, STEVE.

OKAY.

I'M GOING TO GET OUT OF HERE.

THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT.

IF YOU LOOK IN THE CHAT, I PUT OUT A STEVE'S EMAIL ADDRESS AND ALSO PAUL'S EMAIL ADDRESS IN CASE YOU NEED THEM, OR YOU CAN ALWAYS REACH OUT TO ME.

OKAY.

I BELIEVE WE'RE UP TO KEEP GUERLAIN.

BEAUTIFUL.

HELLO? OKAY.

WE HAVE, UM, THINGS GOING ON, UH, NOVEMBER THE 13TH.

THERE'S GOING TO BE AN EVENT HERE IN GARLAND CALLED RETREAT.

IT'S NOT LEAVING ANY PLACE.

IT'S R E T R E E T.

AND IT'S REPLACING OUR HELP AND REPLACE TREES THAT WERE BLOWN AWAY IN THE TORNADO LAST, LAST YEAR, YEAR BEFORE, UM, AND WILLIAMS STATES.

AND, UH, THIS IS A JOINT EFFORT WITH A GROUP CALLED RETREAT AND WITH THE PARKS DEPARTMENT.

AND SO KEEP GOING BEAUTIFUL IS GETTING TO WORK WITH THAT.

AND RIGHT NOW IT'S STILL IN THE PLANNING STAGES, BUT, UM, PROBABLY THE 1ST OF AUGUST, WE WILL BE TELLING EVERYBODY ABOUT IT.

PEOPLE WILL SIGN UP TO GET THE TREE TREE OR TREES IN THEIR YARD, AND, UM, IT'S GOING TO BE QUIET AND EVENT.

SO YOU MIGHT MARK THAT ON YOUR CALENDAR NOVEMBER THE 13TH, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE PART IN THAT THEY LOOK, THEY'RE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS.

I AM LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS SINCE I'M THE ONE THAT'S SIGNING HIM UP AND, UH, PEOPLE WILL BE, UH, THEY WILL HAVE 15 GALLON TREES AND 15 GALLON BARRELS.

AND, UH, PEOPLE WILL LOVE BIG THE HOLES AND PUT THE TREES IN AND PUT THE COMPOST AND THE MUCH AND HOARDER AND THE, UH, FIELD WORK ALL AROUND THEM.

SO IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN THAT LACK PLAN WITH SHOVELS, YOU CAN PUT THAT ON YOUR CALENDAR NOVEMBER THE 13TH.

SO, UH, THAT'S GOING TO BE A BIG EVENT.

THE FIRST SATURDAY IN OCTOBER IS GOING TO BE THE, UM, TRI CITY CLEANUP.

AS OF RIGHT NOW, THAT'S IN THE PLANNING STAGES.

I THINK THAT'S THE SECOND MAYBE.

UH, SO WE'VE GOT THESE TWO MAJOR EVENTS PLAN AND THEN OUR USUAL, NOT THE HIGHWAY, THERE'D BE ONE IN JEAN.

AND ANOTHER THING IS CALLED A DOCTOR SPOT, AND THIS IS ALSO WORKING WITH THE PARKS DEPARTMENT AND WITH THE, AND I HOPE I GET ALL THESE RIGHT, UH, UH, NCTC O G UM, WHATEVER ALL THAT STANDS FOR.

AND IT'S THIS, UH, TRASH-FREE TEXAS THAT WE TALKED ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO, THAT WAS, AND IT'S DONE ADOPT A SPOT AND IT'S DONE ENTIRELY, UH, ON

[00:25:01]

ONE'S OWN.

AND, UM, IT'S SET UP THEN YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO BE A PART ORGANIZED GROUP OR ANYTHING.

AND SO WE GOT A LETTER FROM THEM, A ASKING IF, UH, WE WOULD HAVE SOME, UM, SITES AND THEN WE'LL BE REGISTERED WITH THE TRASH-FREE TEXAS.

UH, GREAT.

SO WE HAVE A LOT GOING ON WITH THE KATE GARLAND.

BEAUTIFUL.

WE CAN ALWAYS FIND A JOB FOR YOU.

OKAY.

DO WE HAVE ANY ENVIRONMENTAL RECOGNITION? YES.

I HAVE TALKED ABOUT THIS BEFORE, AND WE'RE GOING TO PRESENT A LITTLE, UH, PLAQUE OR, UH, APPRECIATION TO, UH, ELENA AND D GARLAND HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FOR THE WORK THAT THEY HAVE DONE.

THEY'VE DONE ONE REALLY MAJOR CLEANUP.

THEY'VE HELPED WITH THE ADOPTER SPOT, AND THEN THEY'VE DONE SOME OTHER THINGS.

SO WE ARE GOING TO TELL THEM HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE THEM, AND THAT WILL BE SENT TO THE, UH, TO THE OFFICE AT GARLAND HIGH SCHOOL AND PRESENTED TO THEM.

BETTY.

I WAS TELLING BOB EARLIER, UH, WHEN WE FIRST STARTED THE MEETING THAT, UH, I WANT TO START PARTNERING WITH YOU GUYS AND, AND HELP OUT AS MUCH AS WE CAN, ESPECIALLY WITH FUNDING.

I THINK, YOU KNOW, FOR WHAT YOU JUST MENTIONED, RECOGNIZING, UH, ENVIRONMENTAL ACHIEVEMENT, I'M ALL IN FOR THAT.

SO IF I CAN CONTRIBUTE WITH PAYING FOR THE PLAQUE OR THINGS LIKE THAT, THANK YOU.

THIS IS A HOMEMADE PLAQUE.

I USUALLY TYPE THEM UP.

AND THEN I PAINT THIS FRAME THAT GO WITH IT.

THIS HAS REALLY BEEN A, UH, A HOMEMADE, UH, UH, PLAQUE, BUT WHEN WE GET READY TO RECOGNIZE PEOPLE, WHO'VE DONE A LOT, THAT WOULD BE WONDERFUL.

IN FACT, FOR THIS, UM, UH, RETREAT ON NOVEMBER THE 13TH, THAT'S GOING TO BE ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'LL BE DOING IS RECOGNIZING PEOPLE.

AND, UH, ONE OF OUR JOBS AS KEEP GARLAND BEAUTIFUL IS THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE A DINNER.

AND I MEAN, THIS IS A WONDERFUL DINNER, SO YOU NEED TO SIGN UP JUST FOR THE, YOU KNOW, PUT OUT A TREE SO YOU CAN EAT.

UH, AND SO WE'RE GOING TO RIGHT NOW, WE THINK WE'LL BE AT GRANGER, UH, RECREATION CENTER, AND WE WILL HAVE, UH, DECORATIONS AND, UH, ALL KINDS OF DIFFERENT THINGS, UM, GOING ON, THERE'LL BE MUSIC AND DINNER, AND IT'S GOING TO BE QUITE AN EVENT.

SO WE ARE, WE'LL BE LOOKING AT NOVEMBER 13TH.

YES.

I'M CHECKING MY KETTLE CORN CAB, THE CALENDAR.

WELL, YOU MIGHT RATHER COMPETE WITH US THEN HE KETTLE CORN, BUT THAT IS WONDERFUL YEAR THAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THIS.

UH, WE HAD OUR MEETING, UM, LAST THURSDAY AND, UM, WE WERE TALKING ABOUT GETTING CONTRIBUTIONS AND GETTING PEOPLE INVOLVED.

SO YOUR, YOUR GROUP FOR ME WAS AFTER THEY PICK UP TRASH ALL WEEK.

I'M SURE THEY'D LOVE TO DO IT ON SATURDAY, BUT, UH, THEY MIGHT LIKE TO WORK WITH US.

YEAH.

JUST LET ME KNOW.

WHENEVER YOU PUT INTO BETTER ON THE GRANT, UH, KEEP ME IN THE LOOP AND WHEREVER SO GOOD.

I'M GLAD TO HEAR THAT.

PRETTY STRIKE THAT.

THANK YOU.

NEXT IS, UH, CONSTRUCTION.

I BELIEVE RECYCLING.

WE HAVE ANY RECYCLING NEWS, NO UPDATES.

NO, I TOO GOT A NEW LAPTOP, CALEB, AND IT DOESN'T FIT WITH MY DOCKING STATION.

SO I'M SWITCHING BACK AND FORTH WATER RESOURCES.

DO WE HAVE ANY WATER RESOURCES NEWS? YES.

I GOT SOME KIND OF A LITTLE REPORT ON THE BODARK CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS.

THE DAM IS NOW CLOSED AND THEY'RE RECEIVING WATER AS OF APRIL THE 14TH.

UM, HOWEVER YOU GET YOUR BOAT OUT THERE, THERE YOU GET A FREE RIDE TO THE FANNIN COUNTY JAIL, AND THEY GET TO KEEP YOUR BOAT BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT OPENING IT YET.

THE, UM, THESE PAST RAINS AND THEN A LOCK FILL IT, IT HAD ABOUT SEVEN PLUS INCHES OF RAIN.

AND THIS IS REALLY DOING A REALLY GOOD JOB OF GETTING WATER IN THE LAKE.

THE LAKE OPENING IS CONTINGENT ON THE NORTH TEXAS MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT AND THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE, UH, PEOPLE, UH, THERE AND SEE THE OT PLANT IS NOW IN PLACE.

THEY'RE WAITING FOR THE WORD TO FILL UP ENOUGH.

IF THEY CAN INSTALL THE PIPE.

WHAT THIS OJ PLANT WILL DO IS IT'LL IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE WATER COMING OUT OF A LAKE.

[00:30:01]

IT'LL GIVE A BETTER FISH QUALITY IT'LL, UH, REDUCE THE ALGAE BLOOMS THAT ARE PROMINENT LAKES, AND IT'LL BREAK DOWN THE BACTERIA IN THE LAKE, WHICH WILL IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE INTAKE OF RAW WATER THAT COMES OUT OF THE, UH, THE DAM AND GOES UP TO A LEONARD, THE PIPE, THE RAW POT, THE RAW WATER FROM THE DAM TO LEONARD IS COMPLETE.

AND THEY'RE WORKING ON THE TREATED WATER FROM LEONARD TO THE NORTH TEXAS MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT.

UH, THIS WOULD REALLY HELP A LOT, ALL THE THREE BOAT RAMPS ARE IN AND THEY'RE FINISHING UP ON THOSE.

UH, SO THERE'S THREE OF THOSE AND, UH, LET'S SEE WHAT ELSE WE GOT HERE.

THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE BOATING AND HUNTING WHILE I THINK MOST OF THE TREES HAVE BEEN REPLACED THAT ARE WE'RE IN THE FLOOD PLAIN OF THE LAKE.

SO, UH, THE TRAYS ARE REALLY MATURING WELL, SO THEY'RE ON TRACK AND I THINK ON BUDGET FOR, UH, 20, 22 FOR PRODUCING A GOOD WATER TO THE CITY OF GARLAND.

AND I THINK THAT'S, UH, THAT'S ABOUT IT.

THE DAM IS JUST THE BATHROOM.

UH, IT'S GONNA DISCONNECT A CUP IS 26 SQUARE MILES OF AREA, AND IT'LL STORE ABOUT 120 BILLION GALLONS OF WATER.

SO IT'LL YIELD ABOUT 180 MILLION GALLONS OF WATER A DAY OF WHICH I THINK THE CITY OF GROWING USES 5 MILLION.

I DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S NUMBER IS CORRECT OR NOT, BUT CITY OF GARMIN IS ONE OF THE RECIPIENTS OF THIS WATER IS AS LONG AS, UH, AS WELL AS MANY OF THE OTHER CITIES IN AND AROUND THE NORTH TEXAS MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT.

SO THIS IS GOING TO BE A VITAL INPUT TO THE WATER IN THE NORTH, TEXAS.

I THINK THAT'S ABOUT IT.

YOU GOT ANY QUESTIONS? YEAH, JOHN, UM, UH, HE CAN GO ON YOUTUBE AND LOOK UP, UH, BODARK LAKE AND SEE SOME GOOD PICTURES OF IT.

YEAH, I'VE DONE THAT.

YEAH.

WELL, OTHER PEOPLE CAN DO IT TOO.

I JUST WANT THEM TO KNOW IT'S AVAILABLE.

THEY'RE REALLY GOOD.

GOOD VIEWS OF WHAT'S GOING ON.

WE GOT A LOT OF GOOD NEWS.

THANK YOU, JOHN.

DO WE HAVE ANYTHING FOR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT? WELL, YEAH, I'LL TELL SOMETHING.

UH, KENNETH USUALLY DOES THIS, BUT THE, UM, OFFICE, A NEIGHBORHOOD VITALITY HAS A, UM, GIVES OUT AN AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING NEIGHBORHOODS AND, UM, DIFFERENT THINGS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

AND THESE ARE REFERRED ARE FORWARDED ON TO NOOSA.

THAT'S, UM, A NEIGHBORHOOD USA AND, UH, OUR ORCHARD HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD, UH, HAS A NEWSLETTER AND IT WON HERE IN THE CITY AND IT'S BEEN, UH, SUBMITTED TO NOOSA AND WE THINK WE WON AN AWARD THERE TOO.

THEY HAVEN'T ANNOUNCED IT YET.

THEY'LL DO THAT NEXT WEEK, BUT WE'RE REAL PLEASED ABOUT THAT.

AND THEN THERE'S A, UM, A VIRTUAL OF CONFERENCE NEXT WEEK FROM NOOSA AND IT'S IN FORT WORTH.

AND IF YOU WANT MORE DETAILS ON THAT, YOU CAN GO TO THE OFFICE OF NEIGHBORHOOD VITALITIES, UM, UH, FAMOUS CALL CITY NEIGHBORHOOD CHATTER, CITY CHATTER, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

AND, UH, UH, SEE WHAT, WHAT ALL THAT MEANS.

UH, TWO YEARS AGO, GARLAND, I MEAN, ORCHARD HILLS GOT AN AWARD FOR BEING AN OUTSTANDING NEIGHBORHOOD.

AND SO WE'RE HOPING OUR NEWSLETTER WE'LL GET IT THIS YEAR.

UM, SO TO ME, THAT'S A VERY IMPORTANT AND THAT'S COMMUNITY NEWS.

ALL RIGHT.

THANK YOU, BUDDY.

DO WE HAVE ANY, UM, ANNOUNCEMENTS OR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS? NO, I'M JUST GLAD I'M BACK IN THE LOOP.

I HAD KNEE REPLACEMENT AND SO I HAD TO KIND OF LAY LOW FOR A LITTLE BIT TILL I GET MY FEET BACK UNDER ME.

SO BACK IN, BACK IN THE BACK IN THE SWING OF THINGS, HOPEFULLY, AND ALSO NEXT MONTH, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE PUBLIC AND MEDIA RELATIONS IS GOING TO BE DOROTHY WHITE.

IF YOU GUYS HAVE ANY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS, YOU CAN SEND THEM TO ME NOW, SO SHE CAN START DOING THEIR RESEARCH, OR YOU CAN WAIT UNTIL WE HAVE THE MEETING NEXT MONTH.

YOU'RE MUTED CALEB.

WE DID IT, CALEB.

THERE WE GO.

NORMALLY I JUST SIT MY SPACE BAR ON MUTE, BUT, UH,

[00:35:01]

UM, THE LAPTOP.

YEAH.

WELL, I KNOW I'M TRYING TO FIGURE EVERYTHING OUT.

UH, NO, ROBERT, I KNOW YOU EMAILED TO US, UM, UH, BOB AND I ABOUT SOME THINGS THAT YOU WERE THINKING ABOUT, UH, PUTTING OUT A FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS. I DIDN'T KNOW IF YOU WANTED TO MENTION ANY OF THOSE NOW OR, UH, OR NOT.

YEAH, I CAN TALK ABOUT THEM NOW.

SO I KIND OF LIKE FOR WHAT HE GIVES SOME SALT AND WE CAN EDIT AS A FUTURE AGENDA ITEM.

UH, I WAS THINKING, YOU KNOW, HOW CAN WE MAKE THE THINGS IGNORED THAT ARE GOING FOR A, UH, FRIENDLIER AS FAR AS, MAYBE OUT OF THE DETERIORATE QUICKER, ONE THOUGHT WOULD BE OUR, A LOT OF OUR TAKEOUT, UH, CONTAINERS FROM RESTAURANTS, YOU KNOW, OUR, OUR STYROFOAM, OR, YOU KNOW, WHAT, IF WE COUNT A PUSH MORE OF A, A RECYCLED PAPER OR CARDBOARD OR, OR, UH, YOU KNOW, UH, COMPOST MIX WITH PAPER.

AND IS THERE ANY KIND OF INCENTIVES THAT WE CAN PROVIDE TO THE, UH, THE RESTAURANTS THAT WOULD ENCOURAGE THEM TO DO THAT? AND THEN THE OTHER THING ALSO ACTUALLY LAST NIGHT ON CHANNEL EIGHT NEWS IS A COMPANY THAT GOES OUT TO RESTAURANTS AND CLICKS THE FOOD SCRAPS AND TAKES IT TO THE, UH, YOU KNOW, IN A COMP THE COMP COMPOST FILE SOMEWHERE.

UM, YOU KNOW, SOMETHING ALONG THAT LINE.

WELL, TRYING TO THINK OF WHAT WE CAN DO.

WE, WE HAVE THROUGH CYCLING PROGRAM, WE HAVE A PLACE FOR PINK FOLKS TO TAKE HAZARDOUS WASTE MATERIALS, BUT THE THINGS THAT ARE GOING TO OUR LANDFILL, YOU KNOW, A GOOD PERCENT OF THAT IS, UH, DISPOSED FOOD.

AND, AND I KNOW CERTAINLY WITH THE PANDEMIC HAS BEEN CONTAINERS.

SO I WAS THINKING THAT WE COULD DO SOMETHING TO KIND OF PROMOTE A MORE POSITIVE USE OF THE PRODUCTS OR TO PURCHASE THOSE PRODUCTS BY OUR, OUR RESTAURANTS LOCALLY.

OH, THIS A COUPLE OF THOUGHTS.

I TRY TO BOUNCE OFF OF A BOB AND TAYLOR.

ANYBODY HAVE ANY THOUGHTS ON THOSE? THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF IS THAT IF YOU THANK YOU, YOU'RE GOING TO GO TO A RESTAURANT THAT USUALLY SERVES MORE FOOD THAN YOU CAN EAT.

WHAT ARE THE THINGS YOU MIGHT CONSIDER IS TAKING YOUR OWN CONTAINER THAT YOU CAN TAKE HOME, YOUR OWN PLASTIC CONTAINER, JUST PUT IN THAT IT'S GOTTA BE HARD TO BEAT THESE GUYS, BUT PUT IT IN STYROFOAM, SEND IT HOME.

THEY JUST, IT'S JUST PRETTY COMMON PRACTICE.

AND, UH, I DON'T KNOW.

I'VE THOUGHT ABOUT THAT MYSELF AND IT'S REALLY DIFFICULT TO GET A LOT OF THESE RESTAURANTS CHANGED FROM THE OLD STYROFOAM, UH, WHEN THEY CALL THEM CLAM SHELLS.

UM, SOME OF THEM ARE USING MORE PLASTIC, WHICH I GUESS YOU CAN RECYCLE.

UM, THAT'S ANOTHER OPTION IS PLASTIC THAT CAN GO INTO THE RECYCLE INSTEAD OF THE STYROFOAM STYROFOAM.

I THINK IT'S TOO CONTAMINATED FOR THE, UH, YOU KNOW, IT'S JUST CONTAMINATED AND YOU JUST PITCH IT IN THE TRASH.

IT'S ALL I KNOW TO DO WITH IT, BUT EVEN, BUT EVEN THAT STAR PHONE CAN BE REPLACED WITH A MORE FRIENDLIER PRODUCT.

WELL, NO, THERE'S THERE'S, THERE ARE, THERE ARE PAPER PRODUCTS OUT THAT ARE BEEN USED AS TAKEOUT CONTAINERS, CAUSE I'VE GOT IT BEFORE, YOU KNOW, AND THAT WOULD BE CURATED QUICKER IN THE LANDFILL.

AND YOU KNOW, ONE OF THE THINGS WE'RE LOOKING AT IS TRYING TO CONSERVE AS MUCH LANDFILL SPACE AS WE CAN.

AND I AGREE WITH YOU, YOU KNOW, IT'S GOING TO BE A MAJOR CHANGE FOR THESE, FOR THESE RESTAURANTS, BUT IS THERE ANYTHING WE DO TO HELP THEM SYNTHESIZE THAT, TO GET THEM TO MAKE THE CHANGE OR THE INCREASE IN COST IS JUST GOING TO GET PASSED ONTO THE CUSTOMER ANYWAY.

YEP.

IT'S KIND OF A LOSE, LOSE SITUATION FOR PROPOSING IT TO HIM.

SO THERE, THERE HAS TO BE, UH, SOME SORT OF PUSH, UM, SHORT OF PUBLIC SHAMING.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT WOULD BE TO TRY TO CHANGE THEIR WAYS THE STYROFOAM STUFF IS.

I MEAN, I TH I THINK THE FIRST STEP IN THAT ROBERT WOULD BE TO LOOK AT THE LOCAL RESTAURANT SUPPLIES AND SEE IF ANYBODY CARRIES AN ALTERNATIVE.

YOU KNOW, THERE MIGHT NOT BE ANY ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS READY.

YOU KNOW, I MEAN, CISCO IS DELIVERING THE MOST OF THE RESTAURANTS AND THE REALLY SMALL PLACES MAYBE GO TO SAM'S CLUB OR COSTCO, AND SHE GOT TO LOOK AND SEE WHAT'S AVAILABLE.

AND WHAT WOULD BE THE MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY THAT WAY YOU CAN KIND OF RECOMMEND, WELL, YOU KNOW, THIS IS THE LESS OF ALL THE EVILS.

WELL, AND MAYBE THAT'S, MAYBE THAT'S THE WAY WE APPROACH IT.

WE GO TO THE SUPPLIERS AND, YOU KNOW, GET THEIR SUPPORT.

YEAH.

I THINK THAT'S A BETTER REPORT.

[00:40:01]

LET THEM INCENTIVIZE IT, UM, FOR GARLAND AND MAYBE, MAYBE YOU'RE ONTO SOMETHING THERE.

OKAY.

YOU KNOW, I DON'T KNOW WHEN THE LAST TIME ANYBODY HAD A CHINESE TAKEOUT IS, BUT YOU GET A WHOLE BAG FULL OF TRASH, ALONG WITH YOUR FOOD.

YOU KNOW, YOU GET ALL THE LITTLE PLASTIC SAUCES AND A FORK THAT YOU'RE NOT GOING TO USE AT HOME AND JUST A WHOLE BAG FULL OF JUNK.

I KNOW.

SO ANYWAY, THAT'S COOL.

I THINK WE SHOULD TALK ABOUT IT MORE.

AND I THINK CONTACT IN THE SUPPLIER IS PROBABLY THE BEST BET.

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANYTHING ELSE? AND WE HAVE NO CITIZENS FOR COMMENTS.

I LIKE TO SOMETIMES BE ABLE TO GO OUT TO THE, WHEN THE OUT TO ACTUALLY VISIT THE, UH, BOAT ART LAKE.

I DON'T KNOW IF THAT BE A, I DON'T KNOW.

IT'S JUST REALLY INTERESTING TO ME, I GUESS.

CAUSE I LOOKED AT IT SO MUCH, BUT WE CAN'T HAVE MEETINGS TOGETHER YET.

SO THE CARD GAME.

YEAH.

SO IT'S GOING TO BE A WHILE BEFORE THE CITY ALLOWS THAT, BUT WE WILL KEEP IT ON THE, UH, FOR A FUTURE AGENDA FIELD TRIP.

BOB, WE DO HAVE ONE CITIZEN, SO I'M GONNA ALLOW HER TO TALK TO SEE IF SHE WANTS TO SPEAK TO THE BOARD.

ALRIGHTY, HOLLY.

UH, YOU CAN, IF YOU WISH TO SPEAK TO THE BOARD, YOU CAN STATE YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS FOR THE, AND THEN UNMUTE YOURSELF AND YOU WILL HAVE THREE MINUTES.

HI, MY NAME IS HOLLY, SAM WARREN, 2 4 0 2 RICH CROSS GARLAND.

I WAS JUST SITTING IN ON THE MEETING, JUST LISTENING.

THAT WAS IT.

I HAD NO COMMENT.

OKAY.

THANK YOU.

WE DIDN'T PUT YOU TO SLEEP.

DID WE? HOLLY? NOT AT ALL.

WELL, THANK YOU FOR BEING INTERESTED.

WE APPRECIATE IT.

HEY BOB, CAN YOU HEAR ME? YEP.

UH I'M HERE.

I'VE BEEN ON HOLD WITH MOLINA FOR THE LAST HOUR.

MY DAUGHTER, SORRY.

I GOT TO HAVE EMERGENCY SURGERY ON MY EYES TOMORROW MORNING AND I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET THROUGH TO GET AUTHORIZATION.

OH LORD.

THE BUCKLE.

I HAD A DETACHED RETINA AND THEY PUT A BUCKLE IN AND THE BUCKLES COMING OUT OF MY EYE MOSTLY.

NO, I AM STARTING A, UH, A STUDY WHERE I'M GOING TO GET 58 INJECTIONS INTO MY EYES.

OH, STARTING TOMORROW.

UM, TO TRY TO STOP MY MACULAR DEGENERATION FROM DETERIORATING ANY FURTHER.

WOW.

IT, UH, I CAN SYMPATHIZE WITH THE, UH, THE DOWNSIDE OF IT IS A DETACHED RETINA OR TWO.

YEAH, THAT'S WHAT I'VE GOT.

I DO NOT LIKE A SHOT IN MY ARM.

SO THE WHOLE, THE ONLY THING THAT GOES ON IN MY HEAD IS THE BIG OLD DR.

FRANKENSTEIN, THE HORSE NEEDLE, EVERY TIME, EVERY TIME I SAY IT.

SO HOPEFULLY I DON'T PASS OUT OR TAKE SOMEONE OUT AT THE, AT THE, UH, REDNESS TO TOMORROW.

WELL, WISH ME LUCK.

OTHERWISE I'LL BE A REAL PIRATE COME FRIDAY.

GOOD LUCK WITH MOLINA TOO.

MY DAUGHTER HAD THAT STUFF.

IT WAS AWFUL.

YEAH.

ONE OF THE THINGS, YOU KNOW, ONE OF THE PROBLEMS WE'RE HAVING IS TRASH THAT GETS, UH, INCORPORATED INTO ROCK CREEK AND DUCK CREEK.

AND THAT ENDS UP IN LAKE RAY HUBBARD.

AND I JUST, I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT, UH, WATER SCANNERS THAT THEY SKIM THIS STUFF OFF THE TOP OF WATER AND ACTUALLY ENCAPSULATE IT BECAUSE IT'S VERY DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE ON THE SHORE TO CAPTURE THAT TRASH.

AND IT DOES MIGRATE INTO OUR LAKES.

SO, UM, I THINK WHEN MY BOY, MY SON DID HIS EAGLE PROJECT, HE PICKED UP A TON OF CRASH OFF A ROLLING CRAIG ONLY TO FIND OUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER, IT WAS RIGHT BACK OUT THERE.

I DON'T KNOW WHERE ALL THAT TRASH COMES FROM, BUT IT DOES MIGRATE INTO THE WATERWAYS AND ENDS UP ANYWAY LAKE.

AND SO I WAS ANXIOUS TO SEE A LOT OF THESE WATER SKIMMERS OR CRASH UH CAPTURERS THAT ARE BEING INSTALLED, BEING USED ON LAKES.

UM, AND I DIDN'T KNOW, I DON'T KNOW.

I HAVEN'T TALKED TO NORTH TEXAS ABOUT WHAT THEY WOULD, WHAT THEY DO WITH THE TRASH THAT GETS IN THEIR LEGS.

SO IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING WE'D WANT TO WANT.

WE'LL LOOK INTO THAT AND SEE, UH, EVEN THE OCEANS ARE GETTING CONTAMINATED FROM CRASH IN INDIA AND CHINA.

THERE'S PLACES WHERE IT'S JUST, YOU CAN'T SELL THROUGH THEM ANYWAY.

ALL RIGHT.

WELL, I THINK WE NEED TO, UH, END THE MEETING AGENDA AND TAKE CARE.

WE SEE AS SOON.

GOOD LUCK CAN NO, YOUR POCAHONTAS B.
