I MOVE, WE ADOPT THE AGENDA.

I SECOND THAT ALL THOSE IN FAVOR.

AYE.

OKAY.

SO OUR AGENDA IS, UH, APPROVED.

MOVING ON TO ITEM.

NUMBER TWO ON THE AGENDA IS TO CONSIDER APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE COMMISSION MEETINGS ON NOVEMBER THE 10TH, 2020, DECEMBER THE 29TH, 2020, AND AUGUST 31ST, 2021.

I MOVE, WE APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THOSE MEETINGS.

I SECOND THAT ALL THOSE IN FAVOR.

AYE.

OKAY.

SO THE, UM, ELIGIBILITY LIST FOR THE POLICE CAPTAIN PROMOTIONAL EXAM IS APPROVED AND ITEM NUMBER FOUR IS TO REVIEW THE MONTHLY REPORTS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, CHIEF.

YES.

AND I'M HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTION.

THESE NUMBERS ARE IN LINE OF WHAT WE SEE PRETTY MUCH EVERY TIME WE MEET WITH THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, BOTH IN CALL LOAD AND RESPONSE TIME.

SO, UH, UH, IF THERE'S ANY QUESTIONS I'M HAPPY TO ANSWER, ARE THERE ANY UPWARD OR DOWNWARD TRENDS OR KIND OF JUST ABOUT THE SAME? YEAH, THEY'RE, THEY'RE ABOUT THE SAME.

UM, WE'VE SEEN A DROPPING IN SOME OF THE CITATIONS THAT'S WRITTEN, BUT WE'VE HAD, UH, THE LAST MONTH WE HAD A SCHOOL, OUR ENTIRE, UM, TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT UNIT WAS OUT IN THAT SCHOOL.

SO THEY WEREN'T OUT THERE TO ENFORCE THOSE VIOLATIONS.

SO THAT'S WHY YOU'RE SEEING THAT DROP, BUT OTHERWISE EVERYTHING RIGHT? YEP.

OKAY.

ALL RIGHT.

ANY QUESTIONS? NOPE.

YOUR CARD.

OKAY.

AND ITEM NUMBER FIVE IS TO REVIEW THE LETTERS OF APPRECIATION RECEIVED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.

ANY COMMENTS ON ANY OF THOSE, THE SAME COMMENTS THAT WE ALWAYS MAKE, THE, YOUR, YOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT DOES AN AWESOME JOB AND THIS REALLY A TESTAMENT OF THE TRAINING AND GOOD LEADERSHIP.

SO YES.

THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO.

YES.

UM, I KNOW AGENDA ITEM NUMBER SIX IS TO REVIEW MONTHLY REPORTS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.

CHIEF.

YES, MA'AM FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS SEEN A SLIGHT INCREASE IN CALL VOLUMES.

UH, LAST FISCAL YEAR, WE WERE UP ABOUT 4,000 CALLS, WHICH IS PRETTY SIGNIFICANT FOR US.

I'M PRETTY FLAT FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS.

SO IT'S NOT ALL OF ANY ADMINISTRATIVE.

AND WE'RE SEEING THE NUMBER OF FIRES.

YOU THINK THAT'S A RESULT OF MORE PEOPLE BEING AT HOME OR I THINK PART OF IT IS PROBABLY MORE FOLKS AT HOME.

UH, I THINK PART OF IT, UH, THE LAST FISCAL YEAR WAS THE FEBRUARY NUMBERS THAT MONTH, BUT, UH, RESPONSE TIMES SEEM TO BE HOLDING PRETTY STEADY.

SO IT'S, COVID CLAIM MUCH OF A FACTOR WITH YOUR, WITH THE TROOPS? UM, YES SIR.

WE'RE, WE'RE SEEING A WHOLE LOT OF COVID CALLS AND WE GOT A WHOLE BUNCH OF PEOPLE THAT ARE SAYING, OH WOW.

PROBABLY A LITTLE LESS THAN 10% OF THE WORKFORCE IS CONSIDERED COVID POSITIVE.

WOW.

OH, WOW.

OKAY.

THANK YOU, CHIEF.

AND, AND, UM, ITEM NUMBER SEVEN IS THE LETTERS APPRECIATE OF APPRECIATION RECEIVED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT? THESE LETTERS ARE CONSISTENT WITH WHAT YOU SEE.

UH, NOT AS PRINCIPAL AS OUR,

[00:05:04]

BUT OUR GUYS ARE OUT THERE KNOCKING IT OUT OF THE PARK DAY IN AND DAY OUT.

TAKE THE TIME TO SIT DOWN AND SEND AN EMAIL OR JOT OUT OF GROUP APPRECIATION.

AND THEN WE ALSO HAVE A LARGE GROUP, JUST VERY, UH, PARAMEDIC SCHOOL.

I BELIEVE 11 OF THEM JUST FINISHED UP A WONDERFUL LETTERS OF PROVINCIALLY FROM OUR MEDICAL DIRECTOR.

EXCELLENT.

WELL LIKE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, YOUR, YOUR, YOUR GUYS DO A REALLY, REALLY GOOD JOB.

I, I'M PROUD TO SAY THAT, YOU KNOW, I GET COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE WHEN THEY LEARN WHAT I DO ABOUT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND IT'S, THEY'RE ALWAYS VERY POSITIVE.

SO THANK YOU FOR, THANK YOU.

OKAY.

AGENDA ITEM NUMBER EIGHT IS, UM, THE DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED TO THE COMMISSION ON A MATTHEW GRUNER AND B UH, JASON FOSTER.

SO, UM, WHERE ARE THERE GONNA BE ANY COMMENTS OR IS THIS JUST INFORMATIONAL? JUST FYI FOR US.

OKAY.

OKAY.

ALL RIGHT.

SO NO ACTION REQUIRED ON THAT.

AND THEN, UM, OTHER INFORMATIONAL ITEMS, NUMBER NINE.

UM, IT LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE SOME, UH, PROMOTIONAL EXAMS COMING UP FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AS WELL AS THE POLICE ENTRANCE EXAM.

OKAY.

ALL THOSE, UH, SLATED FOR FEBRUARY.

OKAY.

BUSY TESTIMONY ARE THE, UH, PROMOTIONAL EXAMS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.

ARE THESE VACANCIES THAT HAVE JUST COME UP OR THE NEW POSITIONS.

OKAY, GOOD.

ALL RIGHT.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER, UM, ITEMS OR ANY QUESTIONS OR ANYTHING THAT WE NEED TO ADDRESS? I BELIEVE WE'VE MADE IT THROUGH THE AGENDA IN RECORD TIME.

PRETTY CLOSE.

PRETTY CLOSE.

ALL RIGHT.

SO DO WE HAVE A MOTION TO ADJOURN? WE ADJOURN.

I SECOND THAT ALL THOSE IN FAVOR? AYE.

OKAY.

SO OUR MEETING IS ADJOURNED.
