UH, THAT IS THE, UH, COMPANY WHO, WHO DOES, UH, LANDSCAPE DESIGN, URBAN MASTER PLAN, WHO ACTUALLY DOING THE, UM, SQUARE IN DOWNTOWN GARLAND, BUT ALSO WE ARE ENGAGING THEM TO DO MASTER PLAN ON THIS MEDICAL DISTRICT.

SO WE HAVE SOME UPDATES ON THAT.

AND THEN DURING THIS SESSION, UM, UH, EXERCISE WITH THE STUDY STUDIO OUTSIDE, WE HAVE, UM, A LOT OF MEETING, A LOT OF CONVERSATION WITH THE VA REPRESENTATIVES.

SO WE HAVE SOME, UH, NEW UPDATE SHARE WITH YOU AND THE WALL MURAL INSTALLATION.

UM, THAT'S, I'M GONNA SHOW YOU.

UM, I THINK I SHARE THAT WITH THE COUNCIL MEMBERS, BUT I DON'T THINK, I, YOU DON'T HAVEN'T, YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE, THE WALL MURAL WALL MURAL YET? DESIGN? I HAVE NOT.

SO, STUDIO OUTSIDE, WE HAD A KICKOFF MEETING ON SEPTEMBER THE SEVENTH.

WE HAD PROBABLY 30, 35 STAKEHOLDER ATTENDED.

UM, OF COURSE VA DART AND ALL DIFFERENT CITY DEPARTMENTS, UM, WAS PART OF THAT.

AND THE COMMUNITY INPUTS FOR THIS BETTER BLOCK EVENTS, UH, WE HAD A CHANCE TO ASKING ENGAGE IN THOSE COMMUNITY AND NEIGHBORS IN THAT AREA, WHAT THEY, WHAT THEY LIKE ABOUT WHAT THEY DON'T LIKE ABOUT THAT AREA.

SO YOU SEE THAT BOARD RIGHT THERE.

THERE'S YELLOW STICKY NOTES.

BUT BY END OF THE, UM, SATURDAY NIGHT, THAT BOARD WAS PRETTY MUCH FULL OF THE YELLOW STICKY NOTES.

SO IT WAS A LOT OF INPUT FROM THE COMMUNITY.

SO IT WAS VERY EXCITING.

AND AFTER THAT, UM, THE KICKOFF MEETING, UH, SEPTEMBER 7TH, THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS, WE HAVE DIFFERENT MEETINGS, A SEPARATE MEETING WITH THE DIFFERENT STAKEHOLDERS.

SO IT'S STILL ONGOING.

AND THEN IN, IN TWO WEEKS, WE ARE GONNA HAVE A 50% DESIGN PRESENTATION WILL BE HAPPENING.

SO IT'S STAY TUNED ON THAT.

SO WHAT STUDIO OUTSIDE GONNA DO AND HELP US TO DO WITH THE WELLNESS PARK AND TRAIL, HOW WE CAN

PUT TOGETHER THIS WELLNESS PARK, WHICH IS, YOU SEE THE, UM, UH, THIS IS THE VA CAMPUS.

SO THIS IS YELLOW IS A TRAIL PLAN.

IT'S A PARKS DEPARTMENT.

HAVE A TRAIL MASTER PLAN, HOW WE CAN PUT CONNECTION, HOW WE CAN ACCESS COMBINE WITH THE, UH, WELLNESS PARK, WHICH, UM, THE PROPERTIES ON BY VA AND THE TRAIL GONNA GO THROUGH FROM NORTH AND THE BACKING HUM TO ALL THE WAY TO CENTRAL PARK AND THAT CREEK AND GOING ALONG THE CREEK.

AND IT'S REALLY THE CHALLENGE RIGHT NOW.

WE ARE DISCUSSING THE PARKS FOLKS IN THE STUDIO OUTSIDE IS HOW WE CAN GET TO THAT TRAIL.

THAT AREA IS VERY TIGHT, SO WE DON'T REALLY HAVE ENOUGH SPACE FOR THE EASEMENT OR RIGHT AWAY.

SO, UM, IT'S KIND OF TRAIL HEAD.

WHERE WE GONNA BRING INTO THE TRAIL HEAD IS KIND OF KEY.

BUT WE, OR THE CREATIVE TEAM IS KIND OF DISCUSSING AND TRYING TO SOLVE THAT CHALLENGE.

AND THE VA FOLKS, SURPRISINGLY, UM, IT'S REALLY EXCITING.

BUT THEY ARE VERY, VERY SUPPORTIVE ON THIS WELLNESS PARK.

AND AT THIS POINT, UM, THEY ARE NOT PLANNING TO FENCE IN WELLNESS PARK, OR THEY HAVE SOME KIND OF BIG WALL OR ANYTHING ON THEIR PROPERTY.

SO, UM, BOTH VISITORS FROM A VA AND ALSO THE FOLKS WHO WANTED TO ENJOY THE TRAIL, THEY, THEY HAVE REALLY OPEN ACCESS TO THAT PROPERTIES.

UM, ONE THING THEY MENTIONED IS DEFINITELY THEY WANTED TO KEEP THIS, THE NATURE VIEW, UH, NO MOBILE PATIENT.

THEY CAN ENJOY THE VIEW FROM INSIDE A VA.

THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS THEY REQUESTED.

SO THIS IS THE CONCEPT, UM, HEALING GARDEN CONCEPT.

UH, VA HAS ANOTHER PLACE IN VA.

THEY HAVE THE GREEN ROAD PROJECT THAT IS A NATURAL NATURAL HEALING ENVIRONMENT FOR INJURED SERVICE MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

SO THIS, THIS CONCEPT IS ALREADY EXIST.

OTHER AREA.

SO THIS IS SOMETHING VA IS VERY EXCITED ABOUT AND VERY SUPPORTIVE OF.

AND I WANTED TO SHARE SOME VA UPDATES.

RIGHT NOW THEY HAVE 700 PATIENTS A WEEK, A HUNDRED FIFTY TWO, TWO HUNDRED EMPLOYEES EVERY DAY.

RIGHT NOW, HOSPICE CARE UNIT WILL BE OPENING IN SEVERAL MONTH.

THEY WANTED TO OPEN BY END OF THIS YEAR, BUT I THINK MORE LIKELY IT'S GONNA BE HAPPEN EARLY NEXT YEAR THAT THEY WERE MENTIONING ONCE THIS HOSPICE CARE UNIT'S GONNA BE OP, IT'S OPEN, IT'S GONNA BE 24 HOURS OPERATION THERE.

UM, RIGHT NOW THEIR, UH, BUSINESS HOUR, HELLO, BUSINESS HOUR IS EIGHT TO FOUR 30.

BUT ONCE THIS ONE IS OPEN, IT'S GONNA BE 24 HOURS OPERATION.

SO THERE'S THE TALKING, TALKING ABOUT SURGICAL CENTER.

THEY ARE PLANNED, UH, WITHIN THE FIVE YEARS, ONCE THAT SURGICAL CENTER IS OPEN, THEIR OPERATION AND THE VISITOR'S NUMBER AND THE STAFF NUMBER WILL CHANGE DRASTICALLY.

THAT'S, THEY WERE MENTIONING THAT, THAT'S REALLY EXCITING.

AND THEN ONE THING THEY'RE REALLY FOCUSING ON, IN ORDER FOR THEM TO MAKE THIS SURGICAL CENTER HAPPEN, ENERGY CENTER HAS TO BE RELOCATED TO THE PARKING LOT NORTH OF WEST DEWITT.

SO WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE MAP, IT'S REALLY NORTHERN END.

WHEN YOU SAY PARKING, THAT'S GONNA BE ENERGY CENTER.

SO THEY'RE GONNA HAVE A ELECTRIC BATTERY.

UM, IT'S GONNA BE PRETTY MUCH SIGNIFICANT, UM, ENERGY CENTER IN ORDER FOR THEM TO SERVICE THIS FACILITY.

SO THAT'S THEIR, AND INSECURITY IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THEM, OF COURSE.

SO, UM, THE WELLNESS PART CONVERSATION IS SOMEWHAT, THEY'RE HESITANT IN TALKING ABOUT HOW THE ACCESS FROM THAT NORTH END.

SO RIGHT NOW WE ARE KIND OF TALKING ABOUT SOUTH ACCESS POINT.

UH, SO HOW WE CAN CREATE, UH, CREATE THE VIBRANT NEIGHBORHOOD REDEVELOPMENT RE SO THAT'S REALLY HELPING US TO PUT TOGETHER SO REIMAGINE, REDEVELOP, OR REVITALIZE THAT IS REALLY WE ARE TRYING TO DO.

SO WE HAVE A LOT OF VOLUNTEER.

YOU SEE THOSE, UM, STREET, THE PAINT THAT WE, WE WORKED WITH A LOT OF VOLUNTEERS.

UM, SO WHAT WE ACTIVATING THE, UH, GAVE RESIDENTS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE REAL TIME FEEDBACK.

THAT'S REALLY, WE DID FOR THE, UM, BETTER BLOCK EVENTS.

SO WE HAVE A LOT OF ACTIVITY FOR THE KIDS AND FAMILY.

SO THERE'S A LOT OF, UM, THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS AND OTHER, UH, PLACE.

THEY WERE FEATURING THIS BETTER BLOCK EVENT.

BUT IT WAS REALLY INTERESTING.

THIS 13 YEARS OLD BOY, THEY MENTIONED ABOUT THIS PLACE IS GREAT.

I LOVE HOW EVERYONE, EVERYONE IS HERE HAVING A GOOD TIME AND SPENDING TIME WITH OTHER PEOPLE AND MAKING FRIENDS.

IT'S REALLY NICE HOW KIDS GET TO PLAY OUT HERE AND IN THIS NICE BIG PLACE, YOU SEE THE PICTURE BACKSIDE, THERE IS A YOGA, UH, EXERCISES GOING.

SO IT WAS REALLY INTERESTING.

WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP? UH, AGAIN, STUDIO OUTSIDE WILL COMPLETE THEIR STUDY EARLY NEXT YEAR.

UH, PLANT DEVELOPMENT WILL BE MODIFIED AND ESTABLISHED AND ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL, COMMUNITY HOSPITAL RECRUITMENT THAT WILL CONTINUE.

UM, WE TRY WORK WITH THE PARIAN FOLKS AND WE TRY TO BRING COMMUNITY HOSPITAL BACK TO GARLAND AND ONE STUDIO OUTSIDE, UH, STUDY AND DESIGN FINISH WITH THAT, WE ARE GONNA BRING TO ALL THE COMMERCIAL, UM, PROPERTY OWNERS ALONG WALNUT TO DO THE FACADE IMPROVEMENT.

SO THAT'S SOMETHING WE ARE GONNA OUTREACH, UH, BASED ON THOSE VIS.

SO WITH THAT, THAT'S ALL I GOT.

AND THE ARIAN FOLKS IS ALSO WORKING WITH US AND TRYING TO PROVIDE THOSE MEDICAL SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY.
