IN 1925, MANUEL AND MARIA VIA MIGRATED FROM MEXICO TO GARLAND, BECOMING THE CITY'S FIRST LATINO RESIDENTS. BOTH WORKED TIRELESSLY TO BUILD A BETTER LIFE FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILY. MANUEL AND MARIA HAD EIGHT CHILDREN WHO GREW UP RIGHT HERE IN GARLAND AND ALL OF WHOM WERE OUTSTANDING CITIZENS. THE VIA SONS ALL SERVED IN THE MILITARY THROUGH THREE WARS AND OTHER CONFLICTS. FAMILY HAS LEFT A LEGACY OF COMMUNITY SERVICE AND PATRIOTISM. AND WHERE IS ADDITIONALLY, THE VIA FAMILY HAS GREATLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE CITY . THEY BROUGHT WITH THEM THEIR VIBRANT CULTURE AND TRADITIONS, ADDING TO THE RICH CULTURAL TAPESTRY OF GARLAND AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS. THEY ARE A SHINING EXAMPLE OF THE AMERICAN DREAM, EMBODYING THE VALUES OF HARD WORK, PERSEVERANCE AND FAMILY UNITY. THE FAMILY HAS FACED ADVERSITY BUT PERSEVERED WITH DIGNITY AND STRENGTH, PAVING THE WAY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS OF LATINOS IN THE COMMUNITY AND BEYOND. LATINOS MAKE UP A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF GARLANDS POPULATION AND ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE CITY'S HISTORY AND CULTURE. THE CITY RECOGNIZES AND HONORS THE IMMENSE CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE VIII FAMILY TO OUR CITY AND OUR HERITAGE. AND WE CELEBRATE THEIR

THE APPLICANT CONTENDS THAT THE LOT DEPTH, UM IMPACTED THE DRIVEWAY DEPTH, OF COURSE. AND THIS PHOTO OVER HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT WAS BUILT OUT AT RIVER SAID. IT'S A SIMILAR EXAMPLE OF SHORTER DRIVEWAY. THERE WAS SIMILAR. UM CONFIGURATION APPROVED WITH THE OVERLOOK AT CAMPBELL LAKE LAST YEAR TOWNHOUSE DEVELOPMENT AT SHILOH AND CAMPBELL. THIS DESIGN WAS USED IN THE RIVER SET AND OVERLOOK AT CAMPBELL LAKE. THIS IS ACTUALLY A PD REQUIREMENT FROM 02-38 IT REQUIRED ACTUALLY A 50 FT LANDSCAPE BUFFER, UM FROM HIGHWAY 66, AS WELL AS 15 LARGE CANOPY TREES. THE APPLICANT IS PROPOSING A 10 FT, UM LANDSCAPE BUFFER AND THEN 2 FT. WHERE THAT SOUTHERN KIND OF KNUCKLE KIND OF GO BACK WHERE YOU CAN SEE THAT. TURN ESSENTIALLY, THE KNUCKLE COMES AROUND, SO IT SHRINKS THE LANDSCAPE BUFFER. AVAILABILITY. UM.
