UM, SO THIS IS TRULY THE SCOPING MEETING FOR THIS ITEM. THIS REQUEST FROM OUR UNDERSTANDING CAME FROM FORMER COUNCIL MEMBER JEFF BASS. HE WANTED US TO TAKE A BACK JUST A LITTLE BIT FROM THE MICROPHONE, SO YOU, OKAY. ALL RIGHT. I'LL TRY NOT TO BE OVERWHELMING. UM, THE MICROPHONE, THE SPEAKERS ARE RIGHT ABOVE OUR HEAD. UM, AND YOU KNOW, IF WE'RE CONSTANTLY UPDATING THESE DEFINITIONS TO TRY AND KEEP PACE WITH TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS, THAT CAN BE KIND OF TRICKY. SO, UM, FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, UM, HAVING A LARGE INDUSTRIAL AREA, I, I WOULD DEFINITELY LIKE TO SEE HOW THOSE ARE ADDRESSED IN, IN THAT ZONING. UM, AND ALONG COMMERCIAL CORRIDORS WHERE WE MIGHT SEE COMMUNITY RETAIL, UM, AND, AND SOME LESSER INDUSTRIAL ZONING. SO THAT WOULD BE MY PREFERENCE. UM, BUT JUST TO REALLY GO OVER WHERE ARE THESE REPAIRS ALLOWED. UM, AND PLEASE INCLUDE RESIDENTIAL IN THAT. UM, THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED MITCHELL, SO NO, THIS IS NOT, SO AUTOMOBILE REPAIR MINER IS PERMITTED BY RIGHT IN INDUSTRIAL MM-HMM . HEAVY COMMERCIAL LIGHT COMMERCIAL. AND IT IS PERMITTED WITH AN SUP IN THE COMMUNITY RETAIL THAT'S FOR THE MINER, WHICH WE THINK IS APPROPRIATE. OKAY. NOT PERMITTED BY RIGHT. NOT WITH AN SUP, BUT MINOR IS ALLOWED WITH AN SUP AND IN LIGHT COMMERCIAL MINOR IS PERMITTED BY RIGHT. BUT MAJOR REQUIRES AN SUP. OKAY. AND I'D ALSO LIKE TO SEE SOME EXAMPLES OF WHAT YOU CONSIDER MINOR REPAIR. UM, I CONSIDER LIKE AN OIL CHANGE, MINOR REPAIR, UM, TIRE CHANGES, THINGS LIKE THAT. UM, SOMEBODY'S EVEN TOUCHING A TRANSMISSION TO ME THAT'S MAJOR AUTO REPAIR. SO I'D LIKE TO SEE WHAT YOUR DEFINITIONS ARE AS WELL. UM, I, I'D ALSO LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY, UM, COMMUNITY RETAIL AREAS THAT ARE REALLY CLOSE TO NEIGHBORHOOD, UH, RESIDENTIAL AREAS TO WHERE MAYBE YOU MIGHT SEE MORE AUTOMOTIVE USES AND, AND MAYBE THAT'S NOT APPROPRIATE TO HAVE NEAR A RESIDENTIAL AREA IN ANY CAPACITY. SO, UM, SO THOSE ARE THE KINDS OF QUESTIONS I WOULD ASK ON THIS. SO I THINK THERE'S WORTH, IT IS A WORTH, IT'S, IT IS A WORTHY DISCUSSION BECAUSE RECENTLY WE HAVE HAD SOME CONVERSATIONS WHERE PEOPLE CAME AND THEY ASKED, WELL, I WOULD LIKE TO BE CONSIDERED A MINOR BECAUSE THAT GETS ME OUT OF HAVING TO GO THROUGH A, GO THROUGH A PROCESS. BUT THE DEFINITIONS WEREN'T QUITE CLEAR. LIKE IT, LIKE INTERPRETATION COMES IN THE WAY AND THE ISSUE WITH INTERPRETATION IS AS PEOPLE CHANGE, THAT INTERPRETATION MAY CHANGE TOO. SO WE, WE CAN, REGARDLESS OF WHAT WE HEAR BACK, UM, AS FAR AS COUNCILMAN, UH, FORMER COUNCILMAN JEFF PASSES, UM, RATIONALE FOR THIS REQUEST, I THINK THERE'S WORTH LOOKING INTO THESE DEFINITIONS AND MAKE THEM MORE, MORE STREAMLINED SO THAT WE'RE NOT DEALING WITH, OH, BUT WHAT ABOUT THIS, THIS IS NOT MENTIONED IN MINOR, OUR MAJOR, WHAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERATE? SO IF THE COMMITTEE DESIRES, WE CAN ADD THAT WITH THIS REQUEST AND LOOK AT ALL FOUR DEFINITIONS TOGETHER.
