Hold a public hearing and consider an ordinance amending Chapter 32, “Neighborhood Sanitation and Housing Services,” of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Garland. At the March 22, 2010 Work Session, Council considered a draft ordinance repealing the sunset provision and altering certain sections of Chapter 32.09 to reflect the current direction of the program.
Hold a public hearing regarding the 2010 - 2011 CDBG, HOME, and ESG Budget. One of the requirements in the process of formulating the budget for the Federal Grants is to hold a public hearing. This hearing is to provide an opportunity for comments by any interested individuals regarding the proposed use of the funds.
Hold a public hearing on the following zoning case: Consider the application of Bryan Ly, requesting approval of a Specific Use Permit for a Reception Facility on property zoned Shopping Center (SC) District. The property is located at 3460 West Walnut Street, Suite 120. (File 10-04) The proposal is for approval of a Specific Use Permit for a Reception Facility within the existing shopping center. At the March 8, 2010 meeting, the Plan Commission (by a 6 to 0 vote) recommended approval of a Specific Use Permit for a period of 10 years tied to Bryan Ly as recommended by staff.
