Economic Development Services Agreement with the Garland Chamber of Commerce In 1995, the City of Garland entered into an economic development services agreement with the Garland Chamber of Commerce. This agreement established the Garland Economic Development Partnership which consists of the City of Garland, Garland Chamber of Commerce, and the Garland Independent School District. The current economic development services agreement expires in January 2010. Council is requested to consider entering into a new agreement which shall consist of ten consecutive one-year periods through January 2019.
Item 1b: Update on Single-Family Rental Licensing and Inspection Program Council will be updated on the single-family rental program that was approved by Ordinance No. 6127 on May 1, 2007. Section 2 of this ordinance provided a “sunset clause”: “That, unless reauthorized by an affirmative vote of the majority of the City Council, Section 32.09 is repealed effective on the third anniversary of the adoption of this Ordinance.” Council is requested to provide direction regarding the reauthorization of Section 32.09. Item 1c: Update on 2009 Health and Code Compliance Briley Departmental Activities Council will be updated on Health and Code Compliance departmental activities in 2009. A copy of the 2009 Health Department Annual Productivity Report is also provided for Council’s review. Item 2: Consider the Consent Agenda A member of the City Council may ask that an item on the consent agenda for the next regular meeting be pulled from the consent agenda and considered separate from the other consent agenda items.
