(1.) Approval of the minutes of the July 1, 2008 Regular Meeting. (2a.) Broadway Pump Station Improvements Bid No. 228-08. (2b.) Furnish and Install Raised Pavement Markers Bid No. 372-08. (2c.) Spencer Plant Unit #4 Cooling Tower Repair Bid No. 368-08.(2d.) Underground Distribution Maintenance and Construction Bid No. 462-08. (3.) Zoning File No. 08-27, 2129 Northwest Highway Property Group, LLC. (4.) Resolution approving the acquisition by Dallas Area Rapid Transit by fee simple purchase, easement purchase or the exercise of the right of eminent domain, of specific properties within the City of Garland as described for the construction of certain traffic improvements. (5.) Ordinance amending various sections of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Garland relating to fees for various services provided by the City. (6.) Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an engineering services agreement with Camp, Dresser and McKee, Inc.
Hold a public hearing and consider an ordinance amending Chapter 33, "Transportation," of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Garland by adding a new Article XII thereto.
Zoning Public Hearing - Z-08-11 Jabez Construction
Consider the application of Jabez Construction, requesting approval of 1) a change of zoning from Planned Development (PD) District 03-63 for Duplex Uses to a Planned Development (PD) District for Townhouse and Duplex Uses, 2) a Concept Plan, 3) a variance to Section 15A-200 of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance regarding lot depth requirements, and 4) a variance to Section 15A-1300 of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance regarding common areas. The property is located west of E. Centerville Road and north of Miller Road.
Zoning Hearing - Z-08-22 Alliance Realty Partners
Consider the application of Alliance Realty Partners, requesting approval of 1) a change of zoning from Planned Development (PD) District 01-18 for Freeway Uses to a Planned Development (PD) District for Multi-Family-18 Uses, and 2) a Concept Plan for Multi-Family Uses with conditions. The property is located north of Lookout Drive at Campbell Drive.
Consider appointments to Boards and Commissions
(Item 9) Board members are selected for two-year terms by the City Council in August. Terms are usually staggered whereby at least half of the membership has board experience. Board members are appointed based on qualifications.
Persons wishing to address issues not on the agenda may have three minutes to address Council at this time. Council is prohibited from discussing any item not posted according to the Texas Opens Meetings Act.
