(1.) Approval of the minutes of the June 17, 2008 Regular Meeting. (2a.) Construction of Gabion on Fairdale-College Substation Bid No. 332-08. (2b.) Olinger Unit #4 Control System Upgrade Bid No. 324-08. (2c.) GP&L Power Plant CEMS Upgrade Bid No. 344-08. (2d.) Bulk Polymer for Wastewater Treatment Plants Bid No. 296-08. (3.) A resolution abandoning, releasing, and quitclaiming a certain drainage easement. (4.) Authorizing the Mayor to execute a Deed without Warranty. (5.) A resolution adopting and approving the Garland Housing Agency’s third-year update on its five year annual plan approved in 2005. (6.) Amending City Council Policy No. OPNS-01. (7.) Amending Chapter 26 of the Code of Ordinances
Item 8: Consider an ordinance amending Chapter 26, "Police – Miscellaneous Provisions and Offenses," of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Garland, Texas by adding a new Article XII thereto.
Public Hearing - Roadway Impact Fees
Item 9: Hold a public hearing and consider authorizing by minute action the waiver of roadway impact fees in the amount of $52,952.31.
Zoning Hearing - 2129 NW HWY Property Group LLC
Item 10: Consider the application of 2129 Northwest Highway Property Group LLC, requesting approval of a Detail Plan for a Retail Sales/Personal Service building on property zoned Planned Development (PD) District 78-87 for General Business Uses, and a variance to the IH-635 Development Standards Section 34.21(C)(3)(i) regarding freestanding signage. The property is located at 2129 Northwest Highway.
Consider appointments to Boards and Commissions
Board members are selected for two-year terms by the City Council in August. Terms are usually staggered whereby at least half of the membership has board experience. Board members are appointed based on qualifications.
Persons wishing to address issues not on the agenda may have three minutes to address Council at this time. Council is prohibited from discussing any item not posted according to the Texas Opens Meetings Act.
