Public Hearing - Texas Enterprise Program - MAPEI
Item 13: At the February 4, 2008 Work Session, Council considered a recommendation by the Garland Economic Development Partnership (GEDP)Steering Committee that Council hold a public hearing and approve an ordinance nominating MAPEI Corporation for the Texas Enterprise Zone Program. MAPEI Corporation has plans for a project to expand their warehouse which will cause an additional $7.2 million Real Estate and $13.1 million Business Personal Property value in Garland.

Board members are selected for two-year terms by the City Council in August. Terms are usually staggered whereby at least half of the membership has board experience. Board members are appointed based on qualifications.
