4. Discuss Appointments to Boards and Commissions - Council
1a. Depository Bank Contract In order to meet the City?s corporate banking needs in accordance with Council Policy FIN-06, Council is requested to consider a depository contract and related agreements with JP Morgan Chase Bank for the period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010. The advantages of selecting JP Morgan Chase Bank as the depository include the availability of desired bank services, the established relationship that currently exists and lower fees. If Council concurs, this item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the July 3, 2007 Regular Meeting.
1b. Establishment of a Tree Board At their June meeting, the Parks and Recreation Board recommended that Council consider amending Article II, Chapter 25, ?Parks and Recreation,? of the Code of Ordinances, to establish a Tree Board consisting of the members of the Parks and Recreation Board. The creation of the Tree Board will allow Garland to meet the four standards required of a ?Tree City USA.? If Council concurs, this item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the July 3, 2007 Regular Meeting.
