Change Order No. 1 – Term Contract for Oliver Ready Mix Concrete Council is requested to consider authorizing Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $58,173.15 with Cooper Concrete Company. The provisions of the term contract allow for two optional renewal periods. The first term of this contract expires on August 1, 2013. The vendor, Cooper Concrete, has indicated that their costs have increased and have requested an increase of 3.4% for the first contract renewal. If Council concurs, this item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the July 16, 2013 Regular Meeting.
Stage 3 Water Restrictions Baker At the request of Council Members B. J. Williams and Stephen Stanley, staff will brief Council on the current Stage 3 water restrictions.
Automatic Assistance Agreement with Knight Dallas Fire Department The Garland Fire Department and Dallas Fire Department have had an automatic assistance agreement in place dating back to 1989. Staff will brief Council on modifications to the original agreement whereby Dallas will respond to Garland’s portion of I-635 in return for Garland’s joint response to Dallas’ portion of I-30 and Rowlett Road bridges over Lake Ray Hubbard, the Barnes Bridge Luminant Power Plant, the 300 block of Gloria Road, Elgin B. Robertson Park, Cypress Cove, Hwy. 190 bridge, and the Miller Road bridge over Lake Ray Hubbard.
TEX-21 Panama Canal Mission Campbell Council Member Tim Campbell will provide a presentation on the TEX-21 Panama Canal Mission.
Marketing and Events Committee Update Willis Mayor Pro Tem John Willis, chair of the Marketing and Events Committee, will update Council on the Star-Spangled Spectacular at Firewheel Town Center.
