Written Briefings: a. 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Council is requested to consider a resolution authorizing the City of garland Police Department to submit an application to, and subsequently accept a grant from, the Bureau of Justice Assistance under the 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program for an estimated net amount of $29,586.65 b. 2016 CIP Budget Amendment No. 1 Council is requested to amend the 2016 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to appropriate $7,219,300 in Commercial Paper for construction of the transmission portion of the Swindell Substation. Unless otherwise directed by Council this item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the June 7, 2016 Regular Meeting. c. Garland Housing Agency Annual Performance Update and Administrative Plan Revisions Council is requested to approve the Garland Housing Agency Annual Performance Update and the Administrative Plan revision in order for the City of Garland to continue to receive funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide rental assistance to low income families. Unless otherwise directed by Council, this item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the June 21, 2016 Regular Meeting. d. Shiloh Business Park Deed Restriction Variance Resolution The GP&L Lookout Drive Substation and a City radio tower site is currently being constructed on a tract of land within the Shiloh Business Park. The underlying real property has several deed restrictions that run with the land. Shiloh Business Park has agreed to grant variances to certain deed restrictions so that the City may construct and operate the substation and radio tower within the business park. Unless otherwise directed by Council this item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the June 21, 2016 Regular Meeting.
Garland Cultural Arts Commission Annual Report The Garland Cultural Arts Commission is coming before Council to present the annual annual report.
Annual Board and Commission Reports - Board of Adjustment Staff will provide a report regarding the Board of Adjustment and summary of cases from the previous year.
Historically Underutilized (HUB) Procurement At the request of Mayor Pro Tem B. J. Williams and Council Member Stephen W. Stanley, the Purchasing Department has been requested to report on Historically Underutilized (HUB) Procurement. The report will be presented by Gary Holcomb, Purchasing Director.
