Taser, BodyWorn, Fleet and Interview Room Cameras Project Council is requested to accept the final Master Services and Purchase Agreement (MSA) for a 5year term between Taser International, Inc. and the City of Garland, TX in the amount of $2,690,446.45. Consider Assistance Request for Nonprofit Special Event NAACP Martin Luther King Jr. Parade The Garland NAACP has requested the City Council to consider waiving expenditures for city services required for their events celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Saturday, January 14 and Sunday, January 15, 2017. The City Council Policy on Special Event Policies and Guidelines (OPNS29) states that requests from nonprofit organizations for donated services in excess of $5,000 be brought to the City Council for consideration. Unless otherwise directed by Council, staff will proceed with the proposed assistance for the special event.
Verbal Briefings: Transportation Update The Transportation Director will provide a monthly briefing on the activities related to funding the Strategic Transportation Initiatives of the City of Garland.
LED Street Light Conversion Project Update Staff will provide Council with an update on the GP&L LED Street Light Conversion Project. This will include an updated timeline for the remainder of the project, a recap of resolved issues, and resolutions for current issues moving forward.
Regular Item: Resolution Supporting Nomination of Downtown to the National Register of Historic Places The City Council will receive a written briefing on details of the nomination of the Downtown Garland commercial district for acceptance on the National Register of Historic Places and the upcoming public information meeting to be conducted by the Texas Historical Commission in Garland on December 14, 2016. Unless otherwise directed by Council, this item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the January 3, 2017 Regular Meeting.
