Optional Redemption of Tax Notes When Council approved the issuance of $7,350,000 Tax Notes, Series 2016 on September 6, 2016, it was contemplated that the City would exercise the call provision to redeem the notes on March 1, 2017 prior to the scheduled maturity date of November 1, 2017. Verbal Briefings: Preview of 2017 Proposed CIP Staff will provide an overview of the 2017 Proposed Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which will be formally presented by the City Manager at the January 17, 2017 Regular Meeting.
City Council Vision and Plan of Action to Reduce the Use of Debt Funding At the request of Council Member Jim Cahill and Mayor Douglas Athas, Council is requested to review the City Council Vision and Plan of Action to Reduce the Use of Debt Funding that was presented and discussed at the April 18, 2016 Work Session and adopted by consensus (7 ayes, 2 nays) of the Council. Council Member Jim Cahill is requesting Council to reaffirm their commitment to this vision and plan of action or take action to change or revoke it.
Street Funding Resolution At the request of Council Member Lori Barnett Dodson and Council Member Rich Aubin, Council is requested to consider adopting a resolution that establishes a funding and operation policy for repairs of streets and alleys. Unless otherwise directed by Council, this item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the January 17, 2017 Regular Meeting.
Transportation Update The Transportation Director will provide a monthly briefing on the activities related to funding the Strategic Transportation Initiatives of the City of Garland.
