Confirmation of City Health Authority Dr. Timothy Lambert has served as Garland’s Health Authority since June 25, 2005. His current two year term expires October 1, 2017. Dr. Lambert also serves as the Health Authority for the City of Rowlett and the City of Sachse through interlocal agreements. Unless otherwise directed by Council, this item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the August 15, 2017 Regular Meeting.
Citywide Entryway Signage Update Staff will provide the City Council with a written update on the citywide entryway signs.
Resale of Tax Foreclosed Property - 228 Loma Drive Council is requested to approve the sale of 228 Loma Drive and provide an executed deed without warranty. Unless otherwise directed by Council, this item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the August 15, 2017 Regular Meeting.
Downtown Square Streets, Sidewalk, Drainage, Infrastructure Engineering Design Council is requested to consider authorizing staff to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates to provide a comprehensive infrastructure analysis of the rights-of-way surrounding the Downtown Square.
Report on Council Official Travel Council Policy Section 6 (E) A Councilmember shall provide a brief report on any meeting attended at the expense of the City at the next regular meeting of the Council. If multiple Councilmembers attended the same event, a joint report may be made. The City Manager will provide the City Council with an annual written briefing on Council travel and related expenses.

Downtown Square City Council Mobile Workshop & Design Retreat Staff will discuss with the City Council scheduling an evening mobile workshop and a Saturday design exercise to assist the City Council with finalizing a design for the Downtown Square. Karen Walz, Strategic Community Solutions, will lead a City Council discussion to review public space best practices and to assist City Council in developing a consensus on the final design direction for the Downtown Square.
Council Committee Assignments Mayor Douglas Athas will provide Council with appointments to Council Committees.
Network Nodes in Public Rights-of-Way Staff will present the City Council with an update to a design manual for network nodes (“small cells”) in public rights-of-way, including draft language in accordance with SB 1004.
